Deepal S09 Receives Major OTA V5.2.0 Update: Smarter Cockpit and Enhanced Huawei ADS

Deepal Motors has officially rolled out the OTA V5.2.0 update for its popular electric SUV, the Deepal S09. This comprehensive software upgrade focuses on refining the “Digital Twin” experience, optimizing the Huawei-powered Advanced Driving System (ADS), and improving overall passenger comfort through smarter automation.

1. Instant-On Cabin: Zero-Wait Interaction

The V5.2.0 update solves a common pain point for EV owners: screen boot-up time.

Proactive Wake-up: The dual screens for both driver and passenger now activate the moment any of the four doors are opened. This “Instant-On” feature ensures that the infotainment system is ready before you even sit down.
Smart Window Control: Voice interaction now bypasses the physical “Window Lock.” If the rear child locks are on, the AI assistant will intelligently guide the driver to unlock them before executing the command.

2. Family-First Safety & Modular Comfort

Deepal continues to focus on its core demographic—families—by adding specialized safety toggles.

Rear Seat Child Lock: Parents can now disable the physical buttons for the Zero-Gravity seats via the central touchscreen, preventing children from accidentally triggering recline or massage functions during transit.
One-Touch Sliding Console: The “Moving Island” center console now features four preset positions in the control center, allowing for a quick transition between “Storage Mode,” “Office Mode,” and “Relaxation Mode.”

3. Huawei ADS Upgrades: Security Never Sleeps

For the ADS Max and ADS SE versions, the S09’s security and vision systems have been significantly sharpened.

Smarter Sentry Mode (ADS Max): The system now supports Auto-Enable upon parking. It also includes a “Disturb-Free” setting for trusted locations like home or office. Crucially, Sentry Mode will now automatically resume after an OTA installation is completed.
Rear Fisheye View (ADS SE): Drivers can now toggle a rear fisheye camera view via a custom steering wheel button, providing a wide-angle, zero-blind-spot look at the environment behind the vehicle.
AEB Priority: The Audio-Visual warning for Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) has been given top system priority, ensuring the “Lift Your Foot” alert is heard instantly in critical situations.

Deepal is addressing “Winter Anxiety” with new thermal management logic.

Pulse Battery Heating: The S09 now features Low-Temperature Pulse Heating. When the system detects a cold battery, it automatically initiates high-frequency pulse heating to improve charging speeds and discharge performance in freezing climates.
AR-HUD 2.0: The Augmented Reality Head-Up Display now features a permanent clock and enlarged traffic light countdowns, reducing the need for the driver to glance at the central screen.

5. Mobile App Synergy

The Deepal Smart App (v1.9.1+) has been redesigned to match the vehicle’s new capabilities.

Custom Layouts: Users can long-press icons on the app home screen to customize their most-used controls.
