2026 Tank 700 Hi4-Z & Hi4-T
On April 20th, GWM’s premium off-road brand, Tank, officially released the 2026 Tank 700. The new lineup introduces three variants with a price range of RMB 428,000 – 508,000 (approx. $59,100 – $70,150).
As a significant mid-cycle update, the 2026 model introduces the highly anticipated Hi4-Z (2.0T PHEV) architecture alongside the existing Hi4-T (3.0T V6 PHEV), while significantly upgrading its “Smart Cockpit” and “Smart Driving” capabilities.
1. Dual-Power Strategy: Efficiency Meets Performance
The biggest highlight of the 2026 Tank 700 is the choice between two advanced plug-in hybrid systems:
- The New Hi4-Z (2.0T): Focused on ultra-long endurance. It features a 2.0T engine paired with a 3-speed DHT and dual motors. Equipped with a 59.05 kWh battery, it offers a WLTC pure electric range of 190 km and a massive comprehensive range of 1,191 km.
- The Powerhouse Hi4-T (3.0T V6): Built for extreme performance, delivering a combined 385 kW of power and 800 N·m of torque. It is the go-to choice for those demanding peak off-road towing and acceleration.
2. “Kirin” Design: Eastern Aesthetics with a Rugged Edge
The Tank 700 continues its “Back to Eastern Power” design philosophy, inspired by the mythical Kirin:
- Intelligent Lighting: The “Kirin’s Eye” laser headlights feature 260 LED beads and mechanical rotating blades, reaching an illumination distance of 260 meters.
- Broad Presence: With dimensions of 5105/2061/1985mm and a 3000mm wheelbase, the SUV exudes a “Wide-body” look, further enhanced by 22-inch wheels and a “Floating Spoiler” at the rear.
- New Colors: A new exclusive “Dunhuang Green” joins the natural-inspired palette of Peak Green, Basalt Black, and Remote Mountain Grey.
3. A First-Class Cabin: “Fridge, TV, and Large Sofa”
Inside, the Tank 700 rivals ultra-luxury sedans in comfort and technology:
- Seven-Screen Linkage: The “Coffee Vision” system includes a 15.6-inch 2.5K central screen, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a HUD, and a 17.3-inch 3K ceiling-mounted entertainment screen for rear passengers.
- Zero-Gravity Comfort: The rear seats offer a 141° stepless electric recline. All seats feature ventilation, heating, and 10-point 3-layer airbag massage. The front seats can fold flat to 180° for a “Mobile Bedroom” mode.
- Smart Amenities: A 5.4L onboard refrigerator (temp range: -6°C to 50°C) and a 2440W Coffee AI Sound system with 21 speakers ensure a premium travel experience.
4. Advanced Intelligence: Coffee Pilot 4 & Night Vision
Safety and autonomy have been significantly boosted with Lidar-based technology:
- Full-Scenario NOA: Powered by the VLA large model, the Coffee Pilot 4 system supports “Parking-to-Parking” autonomous navigation.
- Coffee Night Vision 2.0: This industry-leading system can detect objects up to 300 meters away in pitch black and intelligently recognize 20 types of small animals, drastically improving night-driving safety.
5. Built for the Wild
The Tank 700 isn’t just a luxury cruiser; it’s a capable workhorse:
- Towing Capability: It comes with official towing certification—up to 750kg unbraked and 2,500kg braked.
- Rigid Safety: The chassis is composed of 99% high-strength steel, providing a fortress-like cage for both passengers and the battery pack.
Editor’s Verdict
The 2026 Tank 700 successfully bridges the gap between a hardcore off-roader and a mainstream luxury family SUV. By adding the more efficient Hi4-Z variant and top-tier smart tech, Tank is no longer just targeting enthusiasts—it’s challenging the luxury SUV establishment.
