Beijing Auto Show 2026
The 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2026) is officially set to redefine industry standards. Running from April 24 to May 3, this year’s event marks a historic expansion, utilizing both the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi) and the newly inaugurated Capital International Convention and Exhibition Center. With a total exhibition area of 380,000 square meters, it officially claims the title of the world’s largest auto show.
Key Highlights by the Numbers:
- 1,451 total vehicles on display.
- 181 global and regional debuts.
- 71 futuristic concept cars.
- 1.3 km walking distance from the North to the South halls.
Innovative Dual-Venue Layout For the first time, the show will implement a dual-venue synergy. Unlike previous years, components and parts will no longer be isolated in old venues but integrated into the main flow.
- Shunyi Venue (W & E Pavilions): Hosting major traditional and joint-venture brands.
- Capital Venue (A & B Pavilions): A larger space featuring complex layouts for tech-heavy brands. Notably, giants like BYD Group, Chery Group, and Huawei have secured independent dedicated pavilions, showcasing their dominance in the smart mobility ecosystem.
The NEV Revolution: Brands to Watch The 2026 show is a battleground for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), categorized into three main forces:
1. The Tech Giants & Pure EV Disruptors Leading the charge in intelligent driving and battery tech are brands like Xiaomi, NIO, Xpeng, Li Auto, and Zeekr. Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), including AITO and Luxeed, will be a focal point, demonstrating full-stack smart solutions. New entrants like ONVO (Ledo) and Firefly will also make their presence felt.
2. China’s “Big Groups” Powerhouse State-owned and private leaders are bringing their sub-brands to showcase multi-pathway technologies (EV, EREV, and Hydrogen).
- BYD Group: Including Denza, Yangwang, and Fang Cheng Bao.
- Geely: Featuring Lynk & Co and Zeekr.
- Changan: Showcasing Avatr and Deepal.
- Dongfeng: Highlighting the rugged M-Hero and Voyah.
3. International Legacy Brands Global icons are not staying behind. Expect major showcases from Mercedes-Benz (including G-Class EV), BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota, and Honda, all pivoting their strategies toward the Chinese electric market.
4. Luxury & High-End Performance Luxury enthusiasts can explore the latest from Porsche, Lotus, and Mansory, focusing on high-end customization and the evolving luxury EV ecosystem.
