Leapmotor B10 High Power
New regulatory filings from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) have revealed that Leapmotor is preparing to expand its B10 lineup. The upcoming Leapmotor B10 High-Power Edition will offer buyers more performance while maintaining the sleek, minimalist design that has made the B10 a strong contender in the budget-friendly EV segment.
The Leapmotor B10 currently retails between RMB 99,800 and 129,800 (approx. USD 13,800 – 18,000), and this new variant is expected to sit at the top of that price bracket.
Performance: A Significant Leap in Power
While the exterior remains consistent with the current models, the core upgrades are hidden under the shell. The High-Power edition remains a single-motor, front-wheel-drive setup but offers a substantial increase in output.
New vs. Current Power Comparison
| Model Version | Max Power (kW) | Top Speed | Battery Type |
| New High-Power (A) | 180 kW | 180 km/h | LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) |
| New High-Power (B) | 185 kW | 180 km/h | LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) |
| Standard Edition | 132 kW | 160 km/h | LFP (510km CLTC Range) |
| Mid-Range Edition | 160 kW | 170 km/h | LFP (600km CLTC Range) |
By pushing the power to 185 kW, the B10 is expected to drop its 0-100 km/h sprint time well below the current 6.8-second benchmark held by the 160 kW version.
Architecture & Smart Technology
The B10 is built on the advanced LEAP 3.5 Electronic and Electrical Architecture, which allows for deep integration of software and hardware.
The “AI Cabin” Experience
The interior is dominated by a 14.6-inch 2.5K high-definition central display. To handle complex AI tasks, the high-trim models are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip.
Unique to Leapmotor’s latest ecosystem is the integration of multiple Large Language Models (LLMs), including DeepSeek and Tongyi Qianwen, providing one of the most responsive voice assistants in its class.
LiDAR-Powered Intelligence
Despite its accessible price point, the B10 does not skimp on safety. Higher trims feature:
- 128-thread LiDAR sensor.
- Navigation Assist Pilot (NAP) for highway driving.
- Commute Navigation Assist Pilot (CNAP) for urban routes.
- Home Zone Parking Assist (HPA) with memory function.
Market Outlook
The Leapmotor B10 is strategically positioned as a “smart-first” compact SUV. By adding a 185 kW motor option, Leapmotor is addressing the only criticism of the current B10: the desire for more “highway passing power.”
With the combination of a 7-second-range 0-100km/h time, LiDAR safety, and a sub-$20,000 price point, the B10 High-Power edition is poised to be a major disruptor in the global compact SUV market.
Expert Insight for Your Readers
“The B10’s biggest strength is its value-to-tech ratio. While most competitors at this price point offer basic cruise control, Leapmotor is providing 128-thread LiDAR and 185kW of power. For the tech-savvy buyer on a budget, this is currently the car to beat.”
