BYD OTA update 2026
On May 14, 2026, global EV giant BYD officially rolled out its comprehensive May 2026 OTA (Over-the-Air) software update. This significant upgrade enhances the user experience across three core pillars: Intelligent Driving Assistance, Smart Cabin Interaction, and the Smart Ecosystem.
The update introduces several industry-first features and expands the car’s role as a hub for both mobile and home connectivity.
1. Intelligent Driving: Industry-First “Seamless Parking”
BYD is pushing the boundaries of automated parking with two major software-driven features:
- Seamless Parking Activation (Industry First): This feature automatically triggers the parking interface as soon as the vehicle enters a parking lot. Drivers can select a space and initiate parking without any manual menu searching. This is compatible with selected models on the God’s Eye (TianShenZhiYan) A, B, and C platforms.
- Intelligent Intent Parking: Debuting on the Denza N9, this system intelligently recognizes a driver’s intent to park and executes smooth maneuvers once in position.
- Enhanced Feedback: The system now includes external voice broadcasts for real-time status updates and offers three parking speed modes—Comfort, Standard, and Express—to match different driving styles.
2. Smart Cabin & Enhanced Security
The digital life inside a BYD vehicle is now more secure and customizable:
- Upgraded Sentry Mode: For improved security, high-risk video clips are now automatically uploaded to the cloud and can be viewed via the BYD App. Users can also export footage via U-disk or use the new Wi-Fi Direct feature for instant smartphone sharing.
- Dynamic Music Wallpapers: A new industry-first feature that changes visuals based on real-time weather (sun, rain, snow) and syncs with music lyrics. This is available for DiLink 150 systems with a QQ Super VIP subscription.
- Visual Personalization: New dynamic themes, including YOMeeDoll and HALUU, have been added across DiLink 100, 150, and 300 platforms.
3. Bridging the Gap: Car-to-Home & IoT Integration
BYD continues to expand its “Smart Living” ecosystem by connecting the vehicle to more devices and home appliances:
- New Vehicle IoT Support: Drivers can now manage six additional devices directly from the center screen, including dual-zone refrigerators, air purifiers, vacuums, and even Ninebot electric scooters.
- Smart Home Connectivity: The system now supports Hisense and TCL appliances. Users can remotely control home air conditioners from their car, including customizing device names and room assignments.
- Eco-Friendly Driving: An integrated Ant Forest feature allows drivers to accumulate green energy points through daily electric driving.
4. Additional Feature Improvements
- Expanded Hardware Support: Omnidirectional driving recorders are now available for DiLink 100 models.
- UI Updates: The latest DiLink Smart Cabin UI has been pushed to a wider range of vehicle models.
- Entertainment: The iQIYI app now supports cross-screen video sharing and enhanced “See and Speak” voice commands.
